The Working With Designers Podcast discusses how businesses and designers work together to make an impact. Hosts Kristin Silva and Jake Cooper - two professional designers, business owners, and RISD alumni - share the insights gathered from their independent journeys in the industry, as well as the gripes, banter, and humor that goes on behind the scenes.
Co-host of the Working With Designers podcast and the creative force behind Studio Quiche, Kristin embarked on her journey in design with a BFA in Graphic Design from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, graduating in 2012 alongside co-host Jake. Kristin’s early work, both independent and collaborative, garnered media attention, with features in Print Magazine, Print Regional Design Annual, and Graphic Design USA, to name a few. After a five-year stint in corporate work with clients ranging from Rhode Island School of Design, Spalding, Fruit of the Loom, Vanity Fair Lingerie, and JLL, she left the corporate world in spring 2017 and started Studio Quiche, a design collective providing brand strategy and design services to mission-driven organizations in both the nonprofit and consumer packaged goods industries.
Studio QuicheAfter graduating from RISD with Kristin in 2012, Jake began working as in-house designer and art director for brand-focused projects ever since. Jake has created award-winning websites and brand materials for Forbes 100 companies like Time Warner Inc. (now Warner Discovery), HBO, and Turner; non-profit organizations like The Smithsonian; and individual creative entrepreneurs alike. Alongside his corporate design career Jake has grown an independent studio practice, called simply Jake Cooper Design, providing brand strategy, design, and web development solutions for small teams and creators. The studio thrives to this day and after a long career of working in-house is now Jake's primary creative focus.
